I've just stumbled upon this line in the source code:

resolution/src/UnsInternal.ts

Line 77 in 053afe8

!this.checkDomain(domainOrNamehash, domainOrNamehash.startsWith('0x'))

It'll mistakenly treat a valid domain name such as 0x.crypto as a namehash.
