State labels lack # or records

Ideally the state labels would include the number of records available in the collection (as do the hover states available to sighted users).

The state cards do display the number of records per state.

Ugh. This also needs to work when VoiceOver is not activated in order to meet accessibility requirements for keyboard-only users. Currently only works for VoiceOVer and mouse users on hover.
