No longer accept transfers of permanent records in analog formats / Training NARA staff on digital

  1. YAY
  2. So what about records that are created in analog formats before 2022? Will those have to be converted to digital files? Will there be a standard guideline? Will extra time be given to the transfer of those records to convert them to digital?
  3. There is talk about building your future through your people. That's great and all about the 85 percent of NARA positions will be filled within 80 days and the participated in a formal leadership development program. Shouldn't you have a bullet point about how you are going to train and educate your staff on this digital change? If you are going to actually make this change, you need to have staff ready and prepared for it. This isn't about just hiring a bunch of 'digital' archivists because really the 'work' is the 'same'. I know, I know. We can spent hours discussing how it or it is not different but at the end of the day you already have a bunch of staff. It's doubtful you will get more money or more staff, everyone is being asked to do more with less.
