Prefer MP4 variant over GIF?

Hi!
I don't know if this is even possible within the current Reddit API, but is there a possibility of serving MP4s instead of the heavy, ugly GIFs that are currently being served through redditp? It wasn't like this in the past but I'm now noticing more GIFs now than MP4 in some subreddits for some reason.
