AD missing

Hello,

I have logged in adalite after a few months of being inactive, only to find out my balance is zero. Why is that? I don't know how to get it back. I would really appreciate some help here

@crotroubadour
Hello! This is Ben from AdaLite Support Team.

Can you tell me how you access your wallet? I.e. with a 15-word phrase (mnemonic wallet), or do you use a Ledger or Trezor hardware wallet?

@crotroubadour
Thanks for the update. Do you use the Passphrase feature with your Trezor?

@crotroubadour
Thanks for the update.

By passphrase, I don't mean the 15-words that you can use to unlock a wallet -- this is a mnemonic phrase, and opens a wallet that's completely separate from your Trezor hardware wallet.

By passphrase, I mean, when you Unlock your Trezor on AdaLite, are you prompted to enter a Passphrase to unlock a 'hidden' wallet. At this stage, you can enter nothing (leave the field blank) or enter a word/phrase that opens a wallet that's separate from the device's default wallet. https://blog.trezor.io/passphrase-the-ultimate-protection-for-your-accounts-3a311990925b

Does this sound familiar, or have you never used this feature?

Hi, sorry for the misunderstanding. Yes I always use a passphrase when I log in with my trezor. I am always prompted to do so.

Okay, thanks for letting me know. The cause of this type of problem is almost always an 'incorrect' Passphrase -- I say incorrect, but of course I mean 'different from last time'.

You can confirm this yourself by going to the Send tab on AdaLite and looking at the wallet's transaction history; I imagine you'll see nothing there, which shows that the wallet you're looking at has never been used before, thus it's a different wallet from the one you used last time and which contains the funds.

To fix this, you'll need to try variations of your Passphrase until you discover the one that you're looking for. It may be that you unknowingly entered a variation of your passphrase last time you used your device, or you may be entering a variation this time round.

For example, if your intended passphrase is ‘newyork’, the following passphrases will open 5 different/unique wallets (each with a different receiving address, balance and history):

“newyork” ⇒ Wallet 1

“Newyork” ⇒ Wallet 2
(notice the capital N)

“ newyork” ⇒ Wallet 3
(notice the space before)

“newyork ” ⇒ Wallet 4
(notice the space after)

“newyorkk” ⇒ Wallet 5
(notice the letter accidentally added at the end)

My advice would be to try as many variations as possible and let me know how you get on.

Yes, I understand the issue, and I am happy to say that this has resolved the problem. I can't thank you enough for your support!

@crotroubadour That's great news! I'm glad you got it working. Don't hesitate to contact me here if I can help with anything else.
