Use of both numeric and labeled version of responses

Closed this issue · 7 comments

Identify, if any, responses that need to use both the numeric AND the labeled version of responses depending on context. These require special handling. If these are needed, what is the column name extension that makes sense?

For example:
pra8n

col|measure|eng|esp|recoded
pra8n | 1 | Yes | Sí | 100
pra8n | 2 | No | No | 0

Wherever there is a recoded, use only the recoded.

Do need to maintain the label value, only for use in the axis, labeling. Use Tableau aliasing.

Suggestion for Carole, have them on the side as an alternative

Will need to have these on the side--aliasing is only available for discrete dimensions, not continuous, and not measures. Investigate lookup driven by selection of parameter

From Tableau: Aliases can be created for the members of discrete dimensions only. They cannot be created for continuous dimensions, dates, or measures.

We can display a text to indicate the legend below the graphic.

This is handled by the display of all of the labels in a legend
