No audio on Linux Chromium

When I hit the enable button in skip silence, the video's audio goes away entirely. Testing on YouTube.

Observations:

• After a few moments of the silence, Chromium disconnects from Pulseaudio, and never reconnects. (Observed via pavucontrol). I suspect this is just Chromium's default behavior when there is no audio for a long enough period, but worth mentioning I guess.
• The popup shows the audio levels of the video, so it seems to be receiving them fine.
• The "Mute Silence" setting makes no difference whether on or not. Nor any other settings as far as I can tell.

• NixOS
• Chromium 91.0.4472.114
• Skip Silence 3.4.1

I'm not sure how to enable any useful debug logs, please let me know and I'll do so and link them.
