Crash Unfortunately, SMS Backup has stopped (SMS Backup by Christoph Studer)

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Each time the app tries to backup I get the message 'Unfortunately, SMS 
Backup has stopped.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Instead of having a backup updated, I get the a.m. message

I have repeatedly submitted error reports via the phone as triggered by the app 
since the problem commenced to occur on 15th april, 2012. I believe the issue 
could be related to the phone upgrade I was prompted to perform by the phone 
manufacturer.
