Twittperator - Twitter API error

After :tw -getAPI and consequently :tw -setAPI, Twittperator won't work. Everything you try to do returns as:
Twitter API Error: (specific error)
eg: Twitter API Error: statuses/home_timeline when trying to view timeline.
