  The Evolutionary Distance problem has led to different algorithms with different complexities. When estimating the evolutionary distance between two organisms using genomic data, one wishes to reconstruct the sequence of evolutionary events that transformed one genome into the other. Evidence was found that some species have essentially the same set of genes, but that their gene order differs. This suggests that global rearrangement events, such as reversals and transpositions of genome segments, can be used to trace the evolutionary path between genomes. As opposed to local point mutations (i.e., insertions, deletions, and substitutions of nucleotides), global rearrangements are rare and may therefore provide more accurate and robust clues to the evolution.Our intention is to identify the necessary or basic functions of the Evolutionary distance problem and implementing it in c++ to create a standardized API for estimating Evolutionary distance problem.
