Popular videos in Public JSON API

It would be great to add a public api call e.g. /public/popular to fetch popular videos structured by year.
Then the kodi-plugin and others can also use this feature out of the box.

I just wanted to implement the popular kiosk for NewPipe. This would be nice to have
