TPAC 2024 planning

TPAC 2024 is planned to be held in Anaheim from 23 to 27 September 2024. These will be hybrid meetings with in-person and remote attendance.

The Media & Entertainment Interest Group plans to meet on the following dates:

  • Monday 23 Sep 09:00 - 10:30 MEIG meeting

    • 09:00 - 09:05 Welcome and introduction (Chairs) - Slides
    • 09:05 - 10:10 Next Generation Audio codec API proposal (Bernd Czelhan, Fraunhofer IIS, Wolfgang Schildbach, Dolby) - Slides
    • 10:10 - 10:20 Media Capabilities (Timo Kunkel, Dolby) - Slides
    • 10:20 - 10:30 Status of Audiovisual Media Formats for Browsers CG (Timo Kunkel, Dolby, Chris Needham, BBC) - Slides

  • Monday 23 Sep 11:00 - 12:30 MEIG and Timed Text WG joint meeting - Slides

    • TTWG status update
    • Dubbing and Audio Description Profiles of TTML2
    • Timed Text support in MSE

  • Monday 23 Sep 14:00 - 16:00 MEIG meeting

    • 14:00 - 15:00 CTA WAVE Streaming Media Test Suite (Louay Bassbouss, Fraunhofer FOKUS) - Slides
    • 15:00 - 15:30 Web Media API Snapshot 2024 update (John Riviello, Comcast) - Slides

  • Friday 27 Sep 11:00 - 12:30 MEIG and Timed Text WG and APA WG joint meeting

    • Regulations
    • Symbols in media chapter titles (relates to work coming from the Adapt TF).
    • Update on Immersive Captions
    • Enquiry into collaboration between the Media group and Immersive Web
    • Funding MAUR 2
    • Checking in on our current and foreseen collaboration process

There will also be meetings of related groups such as Media Working Group, Timed Text Working Group, Audio Working Group, WebTransport Working Group, Immersive Web Working Group, and Second Screen Working Group.

Yes, if there's interest from content providers to use it, let's discuss.
