Confusing description of "Forms Mode"

Opened this issue · 1 comments

I read the description of "Forms Mode" in the Forms Tutorial to suggest that links should not be included within a <form> element, because a screen reader may not alert a user that the link is present. I found that surprising: it seems like a common practice to include links like "Forgot password" within the body of the form. A few other accessibility professionals I queried about this agreed that it's OK to include links within a <form> and that the wording in the tutorial is confusing on that point. Can that be clarified?

Hi @michaelwayneharris87, thanks for your report. I see how that can be confusing and we’ll look for more precise wording. Links are interactive elements, and most screen readers will read them in forms mode, too.
