"Start Tutorial" UI Suggestion for Tutorial Homepage

Opened this issue · 1 comments

Hello,

First off, thank you for this excellent tutorial resource! I'm finding it to be very helpful before designing and building a web app.

My suggestion stems from having visited the Tutorial homepage several times before realizing there was a lot of content inside to cover. I did not notice the navigation bar on the left or understand it was my only entry point into the tutorials.

My suggestion is to add the same navigation pattern you've included on all other tutorial pages to the Homepage. For example, on the bottom of the Images Concept page, there is a link titled "Next:
Informative Images ->" that guides you to the next page.

If a similar navigation link is added to the Homepage, then new visitors will scroll down and see a navigation link to begin the tutorial (e.g. it could be called "Start Tutorial Here" or "Next: Page Structure Tutorial").

Thanks for considering! Looking forward to using this site many times in the future!

Best,
Elizabeth

Hi @fergfluff, thanks for your suggestion. We’re in the (slow 😉) process of integrating the tutorials into the main WAI design and navigation structure, so your comment is coming at the right time. The home page should have a listing of the sub-sections as a clearer path to the content.

If you have more observations, feel free to let me know. We’re always looking for feedback!
