[Replay Bug]: Players not rendering Scalar crawls in Chrome

jacobheil opened this issue · 1 comments

ReplayWeb.page Version

v1.8.15

What did you expect to happen? What happened instead?

When attempting to replay, in Chrome and Safari at least, a .wacz file -- either in an embedded player or on the replaywep.page -- that is an archive of a site created with the web-publishing platform Scalar, the players display a white screen rather than loading the content. The relevant archives can temporarily be found on a reclaim.cloud instance.

There is also a discussion over in reclaim's support community that adds context and suggests that wombat.js might be the offender.

Additional details

It's not just affecting my crawl, but archival crawls in (at least) Stanford UP's infrastructure are also not rendering in Chrome/Safari (viz. Black Quotidian and When Melodies Gather as they should render in the webrecorder player vs. how they render when clicking through the Stanford archive.

Thanks!

Hm, this is a regression, as Scalar projects worked pretty well in earlier versions, will take a look.
