Not sure if this needs to be licensed under GPL (or a compatible license) since we are copying the doc-comments from MediaWiki, or if the doc-comments aren't covered by licensing so we could choose anything.

hey! i found this in mw:API:License:

API documentation

The generated documentation for the API generally falls under the license of the code implementing the API, for example GPL v2 and above. (You're unlikely to reuse this, unless you build your own API libraries on top of)

so it looks like this should use GPL, yes
