Monitor Generator via DSE3110 CAN bus

I have access to a generator that is controlled via a DSE3110 that is CAN enabled. I want to monitor the generator.
Recently simonsobs/socs#436 has been merged, which resolved simonsobs/socs#106. That feature (documented here) adds support for monitoring a DSE3110 over serial Modbus.
I hope that its protocol for monitoring it via CAN is at least somewhat similar to how you would communicate with it serially. I plan to download some of the manuals available here: https://www.deepseaelectronics.com/genset/manual-auto-start-control-modules/dse3110/downloads. Hopefully one of those will point me in the right direction for monitoring it.
