After I change the date format to be invalid and restart the program, there is an exception thrown. It is possible for the user to have corrupted data

Thank you for your report.

Trippie is not designed to handle someone tampering with its files. However, in your case--Trippie caught the error and informs the user that it encounters a corrupted master file. If you create a new trip afterwards, Trippie will create a new master file for you.
