I've just been clued in to https://github.com/j0k3r/safecurl

I think README.md should be updated to point users and contributors towards j0k3r's fork.

@vinodsia-a's repo is also very up-to-date https://github.com/vinodsai-a/safecurl and published to packagist, but I'm not sure if they are taking on ownership.
