Desperately need some documentation, both for how to use the tool itself and to explain the DNS-over-Things ecosystem, and how that interacts with end user privacy and performance.
Drafts welcomed!
So what's needed here? Seems like:
1 - Background on what DoH is
2 - Directions on the JSON file for loading resolvers
3 - How to use the query, performance, and survey tests & interpret results
4 - ??
Pretty much that, yes, at least as a first pass.
The tool-specific stuff - load and save files, what format they are, what you can do with them - is a bit in flux, as a few of those details are going to change a bit before the next release based on feedback I've had. That bit I'll put together as I'm making the changes.
The other part is the consumer-oriented background, and I'd love to get some words about that from someone who'd been following the development of it closer than I have:
Background on what DoH is, and how it's different from traditional DNS, definitely.
What the performance implications of DoH are, and how to use this tool to see what means for the user querying from their location.
