Wiped my phone even though I didn't enter a passcode of the given length

I set up Duress to wipe my phone when putting a password of length 8.
After rebooting, I input my password like usual...

I remember what scenario happened:

• I entered the password, and before submitting it, the phone starts wiping
• I entered the password, and after submitting, the phone starts wiping

Either way, that's not the best experience I've had in my life.
But hey, starting from zero has some merits 😃
