I see that the project has a number of pull requests and the last commit is over one year ago. Is this project dead? It would be nice to have people integrate the enhancements that they have created back and have the one-moderncv-to-rule-them-all...

It’s not, but I have been a little backlogged with relocation + new job. I plan to make a big swoop over the winter holidays (nice long evenings for coding :)). Apologies for the trouble the delays are causing. Xavier Xavier

considering minor PR like #33 not being merged, I guess it can be considered stale.

@xdanaux can you give write access to @mcala, @ig0774 or someone else who wants to maintain this? Since there hasn't been any commit here for over 3 years, I think it would be fair to let other users step up.

@mcala Would you be interested in uploading to CTAN? I don’t think we can take the package without permission from @xdanaux but maybe we can use an alternative package name like moderncv2.

@FranklinYu @mcala Because the author has been unresponsive, it is probably possible to upload it as moderncv. Consulting with CTAN administrators would be the proper approach

If there is no answer from @xDANUx that would be a good solution, moderncv on CTAN has still some bugs after all.

When a packages becomes unmaintained or the author does not react then further steps should be discussed with the CTAN team at ctan@ctan.org.
