Invalid bfd target

Hi:

I am try to build a xinu qemu image.
here is how I have done.

1> use docker to pull download , dockcross/linux-mipsel cross compiler.
$CC -v has following output:

2> ran this command to build xinu for qemu

make -C compile PLATFORM=mipsel-qemu COMPILER_ROOT=/usr/bin/mipsel-linux-gnu-

and have got following error message:
