When playing, attempting to use > to go down stairs instead results in
moving down one tile.
This is on the latest stable version.

Not sure exactly what happened there, but please try the new version 1.2.1 and
see if you still have a problem there. It has much better virtual keyboard
support, and I don't see why it would be any different on your HTC magic than
what it is on my Nexus One. Let me know if you're still seeing it.
