Current structure of tarballs:
$ tar -tf 0.0.14-Marp-linux-x64.tar.gz
LICENSE
LICENSES.chromium.html
Marp
[...]
locales/zh-CN.pak
locales/zh-TW.pak
$ which risks cluttering/overwrite your working folder.
Wish (which I think is a bit more common and is less likely to mess with existing files):
$ tar -tf 0.0.14-Marp-linux-x64.tar.gz
Marp-0.0.14/LICENSE
Marp-0.0.14/LICENSES.chromium.html
Marp-0.0.14/Marp
[...]
Marp-0.0.14/locales/zh-CN.pak
Marp-0.0.14/locales/zh-TW.pak
$ ... or just into Marp/... if that is easier.
