Keyboard not showing up on some devices in 'add near' view

On some devices there is an error that keyboard is not showed when user enters the 'add near' view and tries to write something in the first textfield (the 'distance' field). Forcing keyboard to appear does not solve the problem as text is not written into textfield.
Workaround: tap on second textfield (this triggers keyboard to appear) then tap on the first one again.
Known devices where problem exists:
SGS+ @ stock Android 2.3.3
