Simon,

can you take a look at the chapters and see if the order makes any sense (and fix it if not)

It looks good, though I might move the rebar chapter to be the first chapter. It's not testing, but it's a foundation for the rest, so...

My main worry here is scope - there are many great things here, but it feels like the outline for a 400-page book. I don't have good suggestions on that, except not to worry too much if the first version doesn't include everything.

I think I will try to write an opening paragraph or two for each chapter to try and frame the story we are trying to tell, at which point we can start thinking about structure.
