hebrew font problems

Hello,
I am exporting to .xls file and all is working great.
When I open the file, I get a dialog box asking to know which language (I tried both automatic and setting it manually to hebrew).
All the texts (english and numbers) are readable but the hebrew is bugged.
Exmaple: hebrew - " סטאטוס", I get - "סט×ﾐטוס".
Any ideas how do I fix it?
