Is capacitor C5 not required?

It was removed from the parts list, but is still present on the schematics (though, parellel to capacitor C4, seems redundant).

No, it's not required. It's also not existing on the current PCB anymore. The schematics are for a slightly older version, though schematics-wise only the removal of C5 changed.
