This Arduino library can send Notifications to your phone from every ESP8266 platform. It does so via the ESP_Notify Android app, that can be downloaded here.
Simply download and intall the library, install the App on your Android phone, send yoursel the Token from the app and insert it into an example sketch and start sending yourself notifications whenever there is something interesting happening on your device.
