Letternode Build Status Code Climate

Letternode is a game based on the idea of LetterPress for iOS but written in Node.js and using the EOWL dictionary by default.

Getting Started

Clone, check requirements with "npm install" and run the server by "node lib/server.js" or equivalent solutions e.g. using forever.

Contributing

In lieu of a formal styleguide, take care to maintain the existing coding style. Add unit tests for any new or changed functionality. Lint and test your code using grunt.

EOWL

The English Open Word List (EOWL) is taken from http://dreamsteep.com/projects/the-english-open-word-list.html It is based but almost entirely derived from the UK Advanced Cryptics Dictionary (UKACD) Version 1.6, by J Ross Beresford (http://cfaj.freeshell.org/wordfinder/UKACD17.shtml). UK Advanced Cryptics Dictionary Licensing Information: Copyright (c) J Ross Beresford 1993-1999. All Rights Reserved. The following restriction is placed on the use of this publication: if the UK Advanced Cryptics Dictionary is used in a software package or redistributed in any form, the copyright notice must be prominently displayed and the text of this document must be included verbatim.

LETTERPRESS

Futhermore you may use the LetterPress original dictionaries as well. Simple fetch the files from the app-file and place them into the lib/dictionary/letterpress folder. I do not suggest that you use those files on a public advised webspace.
