Alexa drops Espalexa after some time

Dear all,
I have used Espalexa for a couple of switches with no special alteration to the examples provided. What I see is that Alexa drops those switches after some time. Starting discovery then again finds the switch and the cycle is repeated. I have no idea, what causes Alexa to drop the switches.
My system in total consists of a managed WiFi with 4 APs, four Echos and a FireBox. No issues to the WiFi are known. Any hind what causes the drop of a Espalexa -unit? Is there a way to get hands on the reason of disassociation?
hello, I have been having a similar problem, i think is the same thing (issue #209) i have raised it on various forums and got nowhere, even talked to Amazon and their support people said it had been resolved, it has not. I have 2 echo dot's and an echo flex, i have found if i unplug the echo dot's and rediscover the espalexa and fauxmo devices using the echo flex only, then power up the echo dot's after, everything is working fine and my devices have not yet disappeared !! this makes me think there has been an update on echo dots making the espalexa and fauxmo devices to disappear from their internal hubs after a period of time, i wish i knew more about how it all works and i hope this helps
Hello again, i think i tried factory resets on my echo dots but you can't stop software updates from Amazon
Hi there,
Just thought i would comment again, my espalexa and fauxmo devices are still working ok since i discovered them with the echo flex, i am convinced these problems are caused by an update on echo dot's a while ago, at least 6 months
Not sure if I mentioned earlier that I was pulling my hair out trying to get my gen 3 dot to find my fauxmo as a hue, finally I bought a gen 4 on black Friday and immediately it found all my devices and has been working great since. I concur that it was a dot update quite some time ago. Once detected, it's fine, but gen 3 has an issue finding new ones.
