The server can be configured by setting the following environment variables in a .env
file:

PORT
: The port on which the server will listen. If not specified, the server will default to port 3000. -
NODE_ENV
: Set this variable to "production" for running the server in production mode. By default, the server runs in development mode. -
When running the server in development mode,
CORS
will be enabled to allow requests from different origins during development. In production mode,CORS
will be disabled to enforce stricter security. Example .env file:
PORT=5000
NODE_ENV=production
Remember to place the .env
file in the root directory of your project alongside the server code.
