Usage

  1. Clone the Repository:

    git clone https://github.com/your-username/val-recipes.git
  2. Install Dependencies:

    cd val-recipes
    npm install
  3. Set Up the Database:

    • Ensure MySQL is installed and running on your system.
    • Create a .env file in the root directory and configure the following variables:
      DB_HOST=localhost
      DB_USER=your_mysql_username
      DB_PASSWORD=your_mysql_password
      DB_NAME=val_recipes
      
    • Run the following command to initialize the database schema:
      npm run db:init
  4. Start the Server:

    npm start
  5. Navigate to the Home Page: Open your web browser and visit http://localhost:5006 to access the list of recipes.

  6. Explore and Contribute:

    • Explore different categories or utilize the search feature to discover recipes.
    • To contribute, follow the Contribution Guidelines outlined below.
