Dataset of countries with names, ISO 3316-2 short codes, timezones and emoji flags

Dataset information

This is a dataset where most of the information has been derived from the (now defunct) GOV.UK Red, Amber and Green travel list (2021-22). The dataset contains a total of 234 countries/destinations which have been manually collected from this travel list, as well as other sources.

Country short codes

All short codes (where available) follow the ISO 3316-2 (Alpha 2) standard.

Timezones

All timezones are compliant with the Pytz Python package.
