are you using the dev jar.
you aren't supposed to use the dev jar,use the regular one.

i am not supposed to? gradle built two files which are: orion-0.1.jar and orion-0.1-dev.jar
but the readme file says the following:

Download the latest release or the dev build and put it in your mods folder with Meteor Client.

if users are not 'supposed' to use the dev .jar, then directly mention this in installation instructions

the instructions are for downloading orion, not building it yourself. the -dev.jar isn't getting added to the releases, so if you if you download the mod from releases, you can't make that mistake.
