Microsoft 365 Groups
Groups in Microsoft 365 let you choose a set of people that you wish to collaborate with and easily set up a collection of resources for those people to share. Resources such as a shared Outlook inbox, shared calendar or a document library for collaborating on files.
Group types in Azure AD and Microsoft Graph
Groups are collections of principals with shared access to resources in Microsoft services or in your app. Different principals such as users, other groups, devices, and applications can be part of groups.
Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) supports the following types of groups.
- Microsoft 365 groups
- Security groups
- Mail-enabled security groups
- Distribution groups
Note: Only the Microsoft 365 groups type can be managed through our app right now.
Why we did the integration between Frappe and Microsoft 365 Groups
Improved collaboration: By integrating ERPNext and Microsoft 365 Groups, team members can collaborate more efficiently and effectively. They can easily share documents, communicate through shared inbox, schedule meetings using shared calendar, and track project progress using shared OneNote notebook.
Centralized data management: ERPNext provides robust functionality for managing business processes, such as finance, inventory, and procurement, while Microsoft 365 Groups provide a central hub for managing communication, collaboration, and project management. By integrating these two systems, businesses can benefit from a centralized platform for managing both operational and collaborative tasks.
Enhanced productivity: Integration between ERPNext and Microsoft 365 Groups can help streamline workflows, automate tasks, and reduce manual data entry, freeing up employees to focus on more important tasks.
Increased visibility and control: ERPNext provides real-time visibility into business processes, while Microsoft 365 Groups provides real-time visibility into project progress and collaboration. By integrating these systems, businesses can gain a more comprehensive view of their operations, enabling better decision-making and control.
