Setup

My Config

  • /System/Library/Filesystems/apfs.fs/Contents/Resources/apfs.util -t ./result/sw/bin/darwin-rebuild switch --flake .
  • darwin-rebuild switch --flake .

Manual Steps

  • Setup SSH
    • Switch config repo origin
    • git remote set-url origin git@github.com:ArchieAtkinson/config.git
  • Login into:
    • Firefox
      • Bitwarden
      • Gmail
      • Youtube
    • Dropbox
  • MacOS Settings
    • Display -> "More Space"
    • Wallpaper -> Solar Gradients
    • Control Centre -> Bluetooth -> "Show in Menu Bar"
    • Lockscreen
      • Start Screen Saver ... -> "Never"
      • Turn display off on battery ... -> " For 10 minutues"
      • Turn display off on power ... -> " For 10 minutues"
      • Require password ... -> "Immediately"
      • Show message when locked -> "Please contact if found"
  • uBlock
    • Remove YouTube Shorts in List View
      • www.youtube.com##ytd-browse[page-subtype="subscriptions"] ytd-grid-video-renderer [overlay-style="SHORTS"]:upward(ytd-grid-video-renderer)

Useful Commands

  • Delete generations (nix)
    • sudo nix-collect-garbage --delete-old
  • Delete generations (darwin)
    • sudo ./result/sw/bin/nix-collect-garbage -d
  • Switch Version
    • darwin-rebuild switch --flake .
  • Open in background (MacOS)
    • open -gj -a obsidian
  • Update the lock file
    • nix flake update
