Communicate Data Findings

In this project the Baywheels dataset was first wrangled by cleaning the dataset,next it was explored to find relationships between various columns to discover findings about the dataset,then lastly the findings discovered in exploring the dataset was visualized and communicated using slides to tell a story.

Here is a brief description of the dataset used and the major findings discovered from it

August 2020 Baywheels Dataset

Bay Wheels (previously known as Ford GoBike) is a regional public bike sharing system in the San Francisco Bay Area, California. Bay Wheels is the first regional and large-scale bicycle sharing system deployed in California and on the West Coast of the United States with nearly 500,000 rides since the launch in 2017 and had about 10,000 annual subscribers as of January 2018.

Main Findings

  • Shorter trips are preffered over longer trips
  • Saturdays has the highest number or trips
  • Electric bikes are used more often than docked bikes
  • Casual users takes more trips than member users do
  • Electric bikes are used for longer trips
  • Longer trips tend to be taken more during the weekends
  • Electric bikes are faster and used for longer distances
  • There is low correlation/no relationship between duration and distance
  • Casual customers go on more trips than member customers do
  • Electric bikes are more preffered through out weekdays and weekends are more busier
  • Casual customers go on longer trips than member customers do
