Ruby on Rails Tutorial sample application

This is the sample application for Ruby on Rails Tutorial: Learn Web Development with Rails by Michael Hartl.

Getting started

To get started with the app, clone the repo and then install the needed gems:

$ bundle install --without production

Next, migrate the database:

$ rails db:migrate

Finally, run the test suite to verify that everything is working correctly:

$ rails test

If the test suite passes, you'll be ready to run the app in a local server:

$ rails server

Once you've made a commit + message, you can create the repo on Github and then run these commands to push all your fancy new code up to the Repo!

$ git remote add origin git@bitbucket.org:/sample_app.git $ git push -u origin --all # pushes up the repo and its refs for the first time
