distinction between tools and examples

Since we seem to have two kinds of scripts in the gallery, tools and examples, it might be a good idea to separate them somehow - even if it is just numbering tools at the start or the end.

I can see the issue, but I'd keep things as they are but ensure that tools that require some description include their own READMEs. "Proper" tools should likely be in their own repo.
