Send to Quest using Windows Bluetooth file transfer?

I've found that the newer versions of Windows can maintain an active connection to the Quest 2 as a Bluetooth device, and has functionality to allow the transferring of files over this connection. I don't know what sort of security protocols are in place, so I'm not certain whether a third party application can hook into this feature, but it would be fantastic if WIP levels could be transferred wirelessly in this manner.

The only reason I ask is that I've essentially lost all patience with its sleep mode engaging no matter what I've tried (it entirely ignores the 15 minute timer, and doesn't seem to have an option for never sleeping, even when plugged into power). Alternatively, do you know of a way to maintain a wakeful state for transferring files over without having to constantly put the headset on to trigger it before using the Copy to Quest function?

You can do this outside of CM using adb (which frankly will work better than Bluetooth file transfer mode Windows provides)

Just use the following command:

adb tcpip 5555
adb connect quest_ip:5555

The reason this isn't in CM yet (at least, why I haven't yet) is because ADB doesn't provide a way to get the IP address for the Quest to my knowledge. I'd also like to get automatic map reload on Quest for WIP levels anyways.

Ah, great tip, thank you! I was definitely reluctant to go through Windows itself; those wizards do who-knows-what.

It might be worth adding a button in the Song Library UI to open a dialog and set the IP manually? Would make it easy to adjust any time the router might have to change it (though they typically try to re-assign the same IP to the same device, so shouldn't have to be changed often, and may be better fit into the Settings panel?).

I agree about the auto-reload! I've asked for an enhancement in the Song Loader plugin (the core module), and the developer there thought it would be a good idea. Perhaps others could comment on my request there, so the dev knows there's greater interest... it's a fairly easy ask, since it's just a button triggering a function that's already written for the Settings page.

I actually implemented this a long while ago in PinkCore, but apparently it didn't work and was later removed. See here
