:video_game: Interface replacement for the Steam platform

PixelVision

Simple interface replacement for the Steam platform, first released in June 2011.

Deprecated

This version should be considered deprecated in favour of the community driven PixelVision2.

Steam is constantly updated with new features that regularly break skins. This is inevitable due to the way skinning Steam's interface works. This version of PixelVision has not been updated since I discontinued the original project in 2015. Though reports suggest that it still functions, it may be lacking recent interface additions at this point.

Notable Mentions

Pixelvision is no longer updated, but the skin still works. The metallic hatching and translucent tesselated hex-wall on the overlay are still great touches, even if the fonts seem a little outdated. Pixelvision delivers a clean, serious look in the same vein as Metro and Air, but with a a subtle bluish tint that gives the skin a bit more attitude.

The original Pixelvision was a skin I found uncomfy, mostly because of the small font size, but it has its own group of aficionados. It stopped being updated by its creator back in 2015 and I think Pressure ended up being touted as a potential replacement. Since I last checked in a new dev has taken on the challenge of keeping the skin up-to-date while maintaining the simplicity resulting in PixelVision². I prefer my Steam skins lighter these days, but it’s a decent darker option if you’re in the mood for that plus I prefer some of the menu organisation.
