Hazardous Environmental Events Modeled after iWitness Pollution Map http://map.labucketbrigade.org/ Open source mapping Fundamentally a citizen’s reporting tool of events such as illegal waste disposal, air pollution events, water contamination, chemical accidents/smells, flaring, explosions and fires at industry facilities, pipeline leaks etc. The map will start with the port of Houston, but with the potential scalability of Texas and to all of the United States. This tool will have a website and app. It will connect with various social media platforms through hashtags and direct posted links. Modeled after Live Universal Awareness Map: https://syria.liveuamap.com/about. With source submissions such as facebook live videos, instagram photos, and tweets. There will also be the option for direct reporting which will create a corresponding link for citizen’s to then post on social media. This will make it easy for audiences to follow back to the map. All reports will have a filtering system in place to avoid irrelevant content being posted.
