Right now we have a new release failing to upload to PyPI because of use of a direct dependency on requirement file. Issue described here
The direct dependency was a workaround introduced while waiting flask-ldapconn to create a new PyPI release. See also #4613.
The current lib doesn't feel actively maintained, so on the long run we could perhaps benefit from a change of LDAP library
