Page publication date

It would be very useful to have publication dates on all pages, so that:

  • the freshness/staleness of pages can be easily ascertained by both visitors and us
  • we can present an ordered "blog" feed of news content
  • we can support an RSS/Atom feed, etc

It should also be possible to manually modify this page publication date in the settings pane

Hopefully this data is in the metadata pulled out of the original wordpress site, but if not it would be good to go back to the old database and extract it, so that we can re-sequence the new site content. There are, for example, articles which say "Today this happened..." but no indication as to when "today" was.

I believe we still have this, and it certainly is stored by the software itself. we could make it editable via the page settings if so desired too. it also tracks last updated. but would you want this on every page, or only some? should that be an option in the page settings too?

also, the search results are intended to be date ordered by default, although I have not done it yet, nor have I restricted the results a non logged in user sees.

I would have "this page last modified on ...." on every page, but if you can imagine a use case for not having it on every page then make it optional, yea.

closing this ticket in reference to #82 - adding the authorship of a page and the publication details are essentially the same thing, and I have commented on 82 as to how we could do this. Also, search results are now descending date ordered by default.
