CroXYBoard

CroXYBoard is a small 36x34mm toolboard for simplifying 3D printer tool wiring. It is used on the CroXY and MicroXY printers.

It was developed from the ground up, but shares some similarities with the Carabiner board.

This toolboard uses a 16 pin Microfit 3.0 connector and provides XH connections at the toolhead for:

  • Extruder
  • Hot End (Microfit 3.0 or XH)
  • Thermistor
  • Hot End Fan (12/24V selectable)
  • Part Cooling Fan x2 (12/24V selectable)
  • Switch - for endstop or other use
  • Aux - 3 more connections for BLTouch or other use
  • LED - Always on (12/24V selectable via trace cut/jump). This may be used as a generic power source.

It is possible to use 2 CroXYBoards with one near the printer's controller board and the other at the toolboard. This may simplify wiring somewhat.

16 PIN MOLEX PIN ASSIGNMENTS

Note that the pre-wired 16p cable reuses colors. You will have to trace out which is which. I mark 9-16 with a bit of heatshrink.

1 (Yellow) 12V - If using 24V fans, this can be connected to 24V or left disconnected

2 (Brown) GND

3 (Purple) THERMISTOR A

4 (Blue) THERMISTOR B

5 (Green) SWITCH - XH connector has GND as the other pin.

6 (White) AUX1 - 4th pin of the AUX connector is GND.

7 (Black) AUX2

8 (Red) AUX3

9 (Yellow) 24V

10 (Brown) HOTEND LOW SIDE - High side is connected to 24V

11 (Purple) HOTEND FAN LOW SIDE - High side is jumper selectable

12 (Blue) PARTCOOLING FAN LOW SIDE - High Side is jumper selectable

13 (Green) MOTOR 1

14 (White) MOTOR 2

15 (Black) MOTOR 3

16 (Red) MOTOR 4

I recommend JLCPB for getting the boards made inexpensively and efficiently. OshPark is another option. You only need to upload the gerbers zip file.
