California has been subject to many droughts, wildfires, and severe storms. Inciden- tally, many communities in California are socially vulnerable, in terms of socioeconomics, household composition, minority status and language, and housing and transportation. An indicator is needed when analyzing and estimating how a community can be affected. As it combines many factors of community health together, the Social Vulnerability Index (SVI) is the best metric for the job. This poster will review the CDC’s social vulnerability report on California, and how climate change will worsen these conditions
