Formerly known as "AS3 Data Structures For Game Developers", the package contains parametrized classes that allow programmers to easily implement standard data structures like linked lists, queues, stacks or multi-dimensional arrays. The result is somewhere in between the C++ STL (Standard Template Library) and the Java Collection framework.

Cross-Platform Support

ds supports the following Haxe compilation targets: -swf, -js, -neko, -python, -php, -cpp, -java, -cs.

The ActionScript 3.0 build is no longer maintained. You can download the latest release here (v1.39) or compile yourself using the sample script found in tools/swc/.

Conditional Compilation Flags

-D generic

Enables generic classes (adds @:generic meta). Nice performance boost for static typed platforms (Flash/C++ only, Java is not supported right now).

-D alchemy

Enables fast virtual memory for FP10+ ("alchemy memory"). Extra performance for Flash.

Installation

Install Haxe and run $ haxelib install polygonal-ds from the console. This installs the polygonal-ds library hosted on lib.haxe.org, which always mirrors the git master branch. From now on just compile with $ haxe ... -lib polygonal-ds.

Known limitations

  • -java, -cs: java.NativeArray<T> and cs.NativeArray<T> are not supported, instead plain Haxe Arrays are used right now. Also -D generic does not compile.
  • -hl: HashLink target is not supported at the moment
