Information about bike share usage during the weekdays, peak hours, and bike usage by gender is presented to the stakeholders using tableau.

The line chart below shows the bike share duration of users in NYC. Users at most take use the bike share program for about five minutes. Very few users use the bike shares for over an hour. The second line chart shows the bike share duration of users in NYC by gender. Males are most share bike users in NYC; about triple the number of female and unknown users.

The heatmap shows the bicycles are popular during the peak hour times when users are usually going to work. Weekday volumes during rush hours 8-9 AM and 4-6 PM, are higher than volumes on Sunday and Saturdays. However, Saturdays have higher user volumes during the afternoons than any weekday.

This heatmap shows the users trips by weekday for users. Subscribers take more trips on average than one-time customers. Males predominately are the main users of the bikeshare program.

The maps here show the top starting and ending locations for where user’s pickup and drop-off their bikes. Relatively, both starting, and drop-off locations have the same count of bikes. Lower Manhattan in particular, is the most popular destination to pickup and drop-off bikes.
With the data and the plots shown above, we can predict the popular bike usage times, pick up and drop off locations, and users demographics for the bike share program. This will help investors and planners build future bike racks and marketing towards certain demographics. Two additional visualizations for future analysis:
